Hopeful-wishful thinking....that we are almost finished with the house and ready to move in to start living and building our family life.
This project began November 2010 when we closed on the house. The contractors started the complete tear-out Jan. 19, 2011. We are not far away from the finish line...I pray! Last week we decided that it was time to move our blow-up beds in our unfinished house to do some of the work ourselves. There is lots of painting and caulking to finish before the wood floors can go down and outside there is firewood to stack after cutting down 3 large trees. Feels good to know that our "winter warmth" will be ready when we need to fill the wood stove again.
A thought that I have pondered many a mornings after this tear-out project began back on Jan. 19th, 2011. "WHO is mom and dad?" I feel like Hope has only had a grandma for almost the last 3 months. I had to be on site every day thru the week. I was in tears many mornings when I had to leave MY real job, MY baby, MY LIFE! But I have learned that we are always in a SEASON of life. I know that GOD orders our footsteps. SO I have had to lean on HIM for the next thing and trust HIM for that.
Hope has had to learn how to play by herself, while the grown-ups do grown-up work. I explain to her that she has to work/play in her space with her toys. When we are working outside, I have been training Hope to work along side of us. One of her recent jobs has been picking up the small sticks for the wood stove. She has her own little wheel barrow. But she mostly wants to talk and play in the saw dust piles.
The love of Helping family and training a good work ethic is something that starts very young. Hope loves chocolate, but gets very little candy or sugar. We all get pay checks for working...right? SO to encourage Hopes thinking/motivation alittle I told her that Daddy earns money when he works hard and that Mommy would give her some chocolate if she worked hard at filling up her wheel barrow with the sticks. She loved it and ran with big eyes and a big smile to put her boots on and run outside with Daddy to work. We are a family that loves GOD'S ways and all of HIS benefits. We are a work in progress and lovin the journey.
