Summer Fun

Blueberry Bliss
Our first "Scavenger Hunt"

Our first Scavenger Hunt..it was so unreal. I made a list of things I was hoping to see or find outdoors. It went way beyond my expectations...what fun it was for Hope to experience so many things during this outing that mommy called a "Scavenger Hunt." We went outside with all notable excitement on the sabbath day to celebrate and experience GOD'S big "CREATION WEEK" finds. First we spotted a little white feather. I didn't think that we would find any feathers. But I put it on my list anyway. At that point I felt more like this HUNT was more GOD'S idea than mine.
Next, we found a white rock which we had never seen in the area before. We found it under a pine tree. Pine trees are one of my favorite trees. I love laying under them. I Love their smell and they seem to bring me such a peace and comfort. They are graceful and beautiful. Most importantly all GOD'S idea and Made by HIS hands and heart! We observed this little rock in all it's beauty and went to look at more things that GOD had made...
Next we found 2 more bird feathers, bigger in size and different in color. Then we found 3 different wild flowers in all of their beauty. We smelled them and talked about their colors. One of the flowers had 2 bugs sitting on it. They stayed on the little flower we picked, so we got to observe them. Then I took them off and put them on Hope's arm. SHE LOVES BUGS! They were a neat color of pale yellow with bright green dots.
Next we walked alittle farther and noticed this majestic "big monarch butterfly." At this point I was in awe at all we were seeing or finding....that is, I was reminded of the scripture "SEEK AND YOU SHALL FIND" we all know that scripture. We were on a scavenger/scripture hunt...to find HIM and all HIS creation handiwork! Slowing down to SEE and BE! Letting the DOING side "rest for the notable day." REST in HIM!
At this point I felt like GOD was putting on a show for my HOPE to see HIM in all HIS glory. This butterfly was alone. I thought that was strange for the monarch. He kept flying by us. Leaving and coming back for a very long time. I felt like GOD put him up to performing for us to enjoy HIM! First off GOD knew why we were there. We wanted to observe HIS creation. I thought at this point our scavenger hunt had been totally GOD'S idea and we felt like HE had rolled out the red carpet to entertain us. We were having a true creation day rest in HIM alone! But just when we thought we had seen it all we happened to notice some ants that had something in their mouth. They were traveling a long distance in large numbers. We have read about ants a little. Since these ants were traveling above ground with babies in their mouths, I think that they are the ants that rob other ant colonies and make those ants their workers.
On our way back we found a dirt area where there were loads of jumping crickets. What fun was that to observe. Hope had a great day learning and seeing so many different things. We talk alot about creation. We read about creation in the bible, we read books on creation, we memorize scripture about creation week and do crafts depicting creation. If we get our biblical foundations right, we get our world view correct and can quickly defend the scriptures and our faith. Everything begins in Genesis chapter one.....no one else was there to give this account and protect it to remain upon the earth for 6 thousand years, but GOD alone.
We observed everything we found for along time. The Lord really gave us a fun day and we truly saw HIS glory in all that we found.
Thank you GOD for making this a wonderful day for HOPE to see you in all that you have made for us to see your glory and to feel the JOY that only you can give....

Hope loves to help, serve and work along side of me. The truth is she does it well and with all her little heart!

Outdoor Fun.....

Our Dear Sweet Hope! Life wouldn't be life without her...she is the highlight of our day all day long. She is so much fun! Her personality is really peaking now. She is a jokster. It doesn't help when I am trying to dress her or get her to stand still. She always used to work with me before, when I told her to help me.."what is mommy doing",..hold still,..help me. She always did great! Now everything is funny to her. On the flip side of that, I was warned about a possible "Latino" temper from another adoptive mom. I also get to see that side once in a while. THe little boy that I take care of during the day has brought out even more of that SIN nature in Hope...if she thinks that "Will" is violating her space...I have seen her make a face and then grab his arm for a pinch and squeeze. The first time I saw that, I was thinking, "who taught my angel that?!" At this point all kinds of new things are surfacing. We are having the time of lives, to say the least!!!!!!!
THese are just a few random photos. We have many more that we will put on the family blog link above. We got some great Zoo pictures this year....

FOREVER HOME

March 14th UPDATE
We have arrived in Guatemala safely. We will be in the lobby at 8 AM to pick up our sweet baby Hope. I am not sure if I will get back to post tomorrow or not so I wanted to let you know that we arrived safely. It is a beautiful Hotel "Beautiful",
and very clean. Everyone is very very nice here. I was told that on the 9th floor there is free food and bottled water for those who are adopting...that is where we are right now. The guy who drove us from the airport to the Grand Tikal, our hotel, told us that it's owner is Jewish... oddly enough he has put the whole Torah..the first 5 books of the bible in hebrew and english up here in this adoption lounge. That is a very unexpected find needless to say.

We met a lady on our flight who lives here and gave us her phone number if we were to need anything at all. She owns a business here in Guatemala, only a few minutes from our Hotel. She gave us alot of information regarding things to see and places to shop.

Well stay tuned..it won't be long and you will find some pictures. Lots of love and good night... wish you were here MOM !!! XXXXOOOOO

November 2007 ..On An Old blog/ Hope was 46 days old here....

Today's Date: Jan. 25, 2009.....
I was checking my traffic widget below and saw that someone came onto my blog thru a site called: "Guatadoptbabyhope"
and for a minute I thought: who has highjacked my blog or something...I checked it and it was an old blog that I had used for our fundraiser information. At the time, I kept Hope's current picture on there while we were doing the fundraisers. After that I started a timeline blog and did not go back to delete that blog...so it caught me by surprise...
I HAD FORGOT ABOUT THAT BLOG!!!!
But it is so cute and brings back those memories...so I want to post the link
HERE so I can go back and view it. It is really perfect timing though because:
Hope's first "GOTCHA DAY" celebration is just around the corner...
